Elevate your acting skills for the stage and beyond!
Advance your craft with tools every young actor needs to shine in auditions and performances. Each actor will prepare and polish one monologue while sharpening their audition cold reading skills to feel confident in any audition room.

Monologue and Audition Acting for Teens w/ Abby C. Smith

The Curriculum

  • Meet your instructor and fellow actors, discuss audition best practices, and receive your assigned monologue (or bring one prepared!). Together we’ll talk through strategies for researching and preparing your text so you’re ready to dive into character.

  • Build your cold reading skills with audition sides. Learn how to make strong choices quickly, deliver confident performances, and adapt to feedback on the spot. Continue working on monologue research and preparation outside of class.

  • Focus on polishing your monologue. Bring your piece to life with deeper acting techniques, specific feedback, and peer collaboration. By the end of the session, you’ll have a ready-to-go monologue and stronger audition skills that you can use in school plays, community theatre, or professional auditions. Celebrate your growth and plan which monologue you’ll conquer next!
