Her recent roles include Mary Warren in Robert Ward’s The Crucible with Opera at USC, Parthoenis (La belle Héléne), La Musica (L’Orfeo), and Phoebe D’Ysquith (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder). As a chamber musician, she has performed Peter Ablinger’s haunting Wiesse Litanei and worked directly with composers including Pulitzer Prize winner Raven Chacon, Alex Temple, and Lori Laitman.
Brittany is a second year Master’s student in Voice Performance with an emphasis in Community Engagement at the University of South Carolina where she studies with Dr. Tina Stallard. As an artistic liaison at UofSC Brittany has worked closely with contemporary music ensembles and composers including Kronos Quartet, Michael Abels, Bang on a Can All-Stars, and The Westerlies.
Wesley Diener
Wesley Diener is an operatic baritone, musical theater performer, and the founder of WD Studio.
Wesley recently returned from his third summer performing in a series of sold-out concerts throughout southwest France. He has performed across the United States and internationally with companies such as Teatro Nuovo, Bel Canto in Tuscany, Classic Lyric Arts, and the Shakespeare Opera Theatre. Native to Virginia, Wesley has appeared with many of the region's finest organizations, including Charlottesville Opera, Opera Roanoke, the Oratorio Society of Richmond, and most recently, Creative Cauldron for several sold-out solo Cabaret performances in Washington, DC.
Wesley is an alumni of the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the Distinguished Majors Program, the Music Performance Concentration, and the Miller Art Scholars.
The Program
Brittany and Wesley will take the stage together for the first time since 2021 to share musical theater and opera’s greatest duets of love and friendship. These two artists first met at a summer performing arts festival in 2021, and they immediately connected as friends, artistic collaborators, and voice educators. Throughout the concert, Brittany and Wesley will share stories of their friendship, what led them to work together at WD Studio, and what they hope is in store for the future!
This event is part of the WD Studio Anniversary Weekend, which is hosted in-person in Columbia, South Carolina and virtually across the world. Join us for free group classes and lightning private lessons in-person and online.
