Ace the Audition: Teen Musical Theatre Intensive

Prepare to Ace the Audition with NYC and London-based audition expert, Mimi Harlow Robison. Immerse yourself in the art of the musical theatre audition, perfect your audition book, learn essential industry tips, and - most importantly - deepen your artistry.

In this fast-paced and individualized class series, singers will work individually in a masterclass setting to develop their mastery of audition technique and to expand their knowledge of musical theatre repertoire.  

Seize your opportunity to learn from a seasoned audition expert and to receive repertoire recommendations that are perfectly picked to showcase your talents!


The Details

  • This class series is designed for passionate and motivated performers ages 12-18 with prior musical theatre experience.

  • This is a six week, intensive workshop that develops artistry and professional audition technique through individual coaching, group teaching, and peer feedback.

    Topics will include: essential industry tips, acting technique, song interpretation, choosing an audition cut, curating an audition book, self-tape skills, collaborating with a pianist, and more.

    In addition to in-class individual and group coaching, each participant will receive custom sheet music and tracks for at least one audition song.

    Weeks 1 & 2

    Learn tricks of the trade and refine your technique with a go-to song that is already in your audition book.

    Week 3

    Choose a new song from a list of personalized recommendations. Develop new skills for learning repertoire with ease, confidence, and success.

    Weeks 4 & 5

    Apply your skills and technique to a new audition cut or another familiar piece in your audition book.

    Weeks 6

    Dive into the details of polishing material and perform in our culminating mock audition with special industry guests!

  • Auditioning is an essential and complex skill that is necessary to thrive as a musical theatre performer.

    In this course, you’ll learn to balance the artistry and the business of auditioning to bring maximum ease, confidence, and individuality to the audition room. Mimi brings a wealth of knowledge from her own experiences, and her guidance is sure to help you ace your next audition!

Meet Mimi

Mimi is an artist and performance coach based in New York City and London, England. She is a professional performer, teaching artist, writer, director, and arts administrator passionate about serving the storytelling process and helping students of all ages find their authentic voice in the industry.

Mimi specializes in repertoire building and audition technique, and loves connecting performers with material that "feels like them." Mimi wants every student she works with to feel confident stepping into any audition room, knowing that they have nothing to prove, only to share.
