Emily Gregonis Studies at CCM Voice Institute

WD Studio teacher Emily Gregonis attended the internationally-renowned CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute this summer at Shenandoah University. This nine-day workshop brings together voice educators to explore how vocal pedagogy and artistry intertwine when teaching CCM (Contemporary Commercial Music) styles.

Throughout the institute, participants dive into mapping the vocal instrument, understanding the biomechanics of CCM singing, and using targeted exercises to help students develop a full range of coordinated vocal function. Educators also learn to work at the intersection of identity, technique, and artistry, guiding singers to deepen their connection to their voice so they can express themselves freely in every song.

Emily brought her new knowledge back to WD Studio where she led workshops for both students and teachers, enriching our musical community with all of the wisdom she gained at the institute!
