WD Studio Singers Commit to Penn State!

Core Program singers Amalie Hendricks and Charlotte Abney committed to Pennsylvania State University and are joining the class of 2030 this Fall!

Amalie has been singing with WD Studio for nearly eight years, and her passion for performance guided her to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at Penn State. The Musical Theatre degree at Penn State is a selective degree program, offering admission to only 12 students per academic year. Amalie shined during the application and audition process and was granted admission to the highly competitive program, where she will spend the next four years continuing to refine and polish her artistry. The musical theatre degree program at Penn State is an intensive pre-professional training program that offers specialized training in singing, acting, and dancing. During her time at Penn State, Amalie will perform in new musicals written just for her and her classmates by student composers, perform in countless musical theatre productions, and participate in masterclasses led by industry professionals.

Charlotte has been a member of our studio for four years, and her love for the arts also led her to pursue a degree in the theatre arts. Charlotte will be pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting at Penn State. The acting program is highly selective admitting less than 20 students per academic year. Charlotte’s application and audition stood out and she was granted admission. During her time at Penn State, Charlotte will have performance opportunities on stage, in student films, faculty project productions, graduate student productions, and more! She will study a multitude of acting methods including Meisner, Checkhov, Lecoq, Fitzmaurice, and Bartinieff/Laban. In her third year, Charlotte will travel to Theatre Academy London to study original theatre-making, Shakespeare, physical approaches, and scene study.

Both Amalie and Charlotte were offered admittance to numerous prestigious institutions, including Elon, Pace, Syracuse and NYU Tisch. Their commitment to preparing and perfecting their audition and application materials paid off! We are thrilled that so many institutions saw Amalie and Charlotte’s talent and exceptional promise as performers. Congratulations Amalie and Charlotte!
